OSTOMY CANADA SOCIETY IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are needed for two committees to support persons living with an ostomy:
The Joint advocacy committee: is a group comprising NSWOCC members and members of Ostomy Canada. Our mission is to advocate for persons living with an ostomy by leveraging opportunities for both financial support and improved access to medical services. We are Looking for 2 volunteers
Indigenous Wound, Ostomy and Continence Health Core Program update on Ostomy Supplies and National Insured Health benefits A committee has recently been formed to support indigenous persons living with an ostomy, recognizing and seeing solutions to the unique challenges faced by persons living in northern communities. This committee would benefit from the participation of a member of an ostomy chapter or peer group. If you would like to participate, please contact:

Informal coffee breaks are held in the Second Floor meeting room at Country Grocer on Bowen Road in Nanaimo. (Watch this space for coffee dates.) Access is via the stairs through the door to the left of the entrance to the store’s cafeteria.
These are not business oriented get-togethers but rather just a group of ostomates, families and friends who meet once a month to spend some time in informal conversation and discussions on the various aspects of living with an ostomy. New people are always made welcome to the group!

Coffee Reminder – Thursday January 10
Join us for our first bi-weekly coffee get together in the new year on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Quality Foods in Driftwood Mall. Once you are on the 2nd floor go to the left to get your coffee, etc. and then go behind the coffee bar and towards the washrooms. The meeting room is opposite the washrooms. We will have a sign on the door that says “CVO SUPPORT GROUP COFFEE MEETING”.
MEETINGS - Our next meeting is Monday, February 11, 2019 at 7 pm at the Public Health Unit (formerly CV Community Health Centre), 961 England Ave, Courtenay. More information will be posted closer to the date.
